ProFootballTalk.com has broached the possibility of the Green Bay Packers trading quarterback Aaron Rodgers in return for Raiders wide receiver Randy Moss.
"Word has reached PFT world headquarters of a rumored trade that would send Oakland Raiders receiver Randy Moss to the Green Bay Packers for quarterback Aaron Rodgers," according to the report.
"We're told that the Raiders want a first-round pick for Moss, and that the Packers have countered with an offer of Rodgers, who was Green Bay's first round pick in the 2005 draft," the article continues.
There may be more truth to this rumor than you might think. I would never believe that this would be a straight up trade, but I wouldn't doubt that some draft picks are involved.
For example, how does Rodgers and a fifth round draft choice for Moss and a second rounder sound?

NO WAY!! I wouldn't mind trading Rodgers, but we still need to give him a legitamite shot at QB. He will have at least 3 years behind Brett. Mark Brunell and Matt Hasselbeck were both QBs who studied under Favre. Mostly, I don't want Moss. The Packers have built themselves this past year under McCarthy as a hard-working team (e.g. Aaron Kampman, A.J. Hawk). They have hardworking, blue-collar guys. Moss has a big ego, plus he isn't the world's greatest player either. Don't get Moss! The Draft has plenty of receivers, and we can grab a hardworker in Drew Bennett in free agency.
Beast, don't be a dork - "we still need to give him (Rogers)a legitamite shot at QB." What a silly comment. Yea right, maybe MM will announce a QB controversy in GB - Favre returns for his 16th season, only to learn he may get beat-out for the starting job???
As far as Moss - if the price was right, you'd be stupid not to jump at it. While I agree he is a major thug, it is about time GB gives Brett a playmaker, one than defenses will be forced to account for on every down.
We have not had that kind of weapon for Brett since Kittrick Taylor -- who caught Brett's first TD pass (tongue planted firmly in cheek).
