Nothing earth shattering was going on at Green Bay Packers practice today. Just another day in what is preparation for what hopefully is another win on Sunday against the St. Louis Rams.
Tight end Bubba Franks reportedly had a good day of practice meaning he could be active for the first time in weeks. As much as Franks has fallen out of favor with fans, his return can't hurt. The very first game backup tight end Ryan Krause took Franks's place on offense, Krause caught two passes. He hasn't caught a pass since.
As analyst Chris Havel noted on Green Bay's WDUZ sports radio station, Franks is a better blocker than Donald Lee. He also has postseason experience. He won't play ahead of Lee, but he's probably a better addition than Krause.
It looks as if Aaron Rodgers still might be another week away from playing.
"Rodgers, who injured his hamstring in practice last Tuesday, left the Don Hutson Center after the jog-through portion of the practice," reports Rob Demovsky of the Green Bay Press-Gazette.
It's possible that Craig Nall could be the primary backup for one more week. Although it seems like Rodgers could play in a pinch. He was suited up this past Sunday as the team's No. 3 quarterback.
