Hold your horses

Here's a funny little story (at least to me).

As I'm currently writing this post (shhh, I'm at work and probably shouldn't be writing), I checked my web page that monitors traffic to Railbird Central. I noticed a huge spike in traffic today, and it was in large part due to people searching on Google, something to the effect of "Favre retires."

My heart skipped a beat and quickly headed over to PackersNews.com to get the latest update. I came to find out that the Green Bay Packers official website mistakenly put up a mock site announcing Favre's retirement.

As it has been pointed out elsewhere, organizations prepare for big events in advance. If and when Favre does retire, the Packers have a webpage all set up that they can post that will announce his official retirement and give readers other pertinent information.
