It's possible that the Packers never wanted Wilson anyway, but the Philadelphia Eagles signed the H-back yesterday.
The Packers are now almost guaranteed to find themselves a tight end in the first couple rounds of the April draft. It would be hard to believe that the Packers could go even two rounds without addressing that need.
This might also be a sign that the Packers have more faith in Tory Humphrey than many people believe. They might be putting a lot of their eggs in one basket if Humphrey were to get hurt once again, but that's why they'll probably be drafting a tight end in the first two rounds for insurance.
Wilson and the new Houston Texans quarterback Quinn Gray make up the last couple of names on our R.I.P. list of free agents who will be Resting In Prosperity while not in Green Bay. There are very few free agent options left.
