Packing a punch

Former Green Bay Packer Vai Sikahema will be donning a pair of boxing gloves in a celebrity boxing match against former baseball star Jose Canseco.

Sikahema, who used to be a boxer growing up, is currently the sports director/anchor for NBC 10 News in Philadelphia where he also played football.

He'll be taking on Canseco because, well, baseball's bad boy needs the money.

"Canseco, to be sure, looks the part of someone most would-be opponents might want to avoid," writes Bernard Fernandez of the Philadelphia Daily News. "At 6-4 and 245 pounds, he's only 5 pounds above his 1988 playing weight. He still has guns for forearms, too, although he insists he's off the juice. He credits his Adonis physique to 20-plus years in martial arts, during which he claims to have earned black belts in kung-fu, taekwondo and Muay Thai."
Sikahema, meanwhile, is most remembered for shadow boxing the goal post after one of his punt return touchdowns while playing with the Philadelphia Eagles. The two time All-Pro will be bringing those shadow boxing skills with him on July 12 in Atlantic City to pound Canseco.
